Job summary

AlphaGlobal's busy library in Al-Rayyan is seeking a qualified Librarian to manage resources, assist patrons with research, and promote literacy through programs.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Library Science, 2+ years of experience, strong cataloging knowledge, and excellent English communication; Arabic is a plus. You will work in a collaborative team environment and independently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience working as a Librarian or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of library systems cataloging methods and information resources.
• Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain the library's collection of books, magazines, newspapers, audiovisual materials and other resources.
• Assist patrons with finding and accessing information.
• Develop and implement programs to promote literacy, education and community engagement.
• Catalogue new materials using the Dewey Decimal System or other classification methods.
• Manage the library's budget and make purchasing decisions for new materials.
• Train and supervise library staff.
• Stay updated on current trends in library science and technology.
