Job description

We are eager to speak with Legislative Counsel, with experience in drafting laws for government or similar entities, who are interested in a relocation opportunity to the Gulf. This position sits at the heart of regulatory and legislative function, offering exposure to impactful legal work and strategic influence on policy development within a leading global jurisdiction.

About the Opportunity

The appointed Legislative Counsel will drive the development and maintenance of sector-leading legislative and regulatory frameworks. Working closely with policy makers, regulators, and other stakeholders, the role involves drafting, reviewing, and publishing laws, regulations, and guidance that meet global best practice standards. The successful candidate will also contribute to internal process improvement, quality assurance in legislative drafting, and assist with legislative interpretation and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting clear, accurate legislative instruments and reviewing the drafting output of others for effectiveness and clarity
  • Supporting the publication, maintenance, and accessibility of all legislative documents
  • Providing critical legal analysis, advice, and interpretation in line with evolving policy objectives
  • Delivering training, guidance, and coaching to internal stakeholders, contributing to talent and nationalisation programmes
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to support strategic business and regulatory goals
Candidate Profile
  • At least 5 years' hands‑on experience drafting legal instruments in English (e.g., acts, regulations, rules)
  • Outstanding legislative drafting and editorial skills, legal research capability, and attention to detail
  • Exceptional English language skills and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience in commercial or financial services legislation or regulatory drafting is an advantage
