Job summary

Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar is seeking a Junior Researcher in Bioinformatics/Data Analysis to prepare data and perform basic analyses under supervision. You will learn bioinformatics tools, document workflows, and contribute to team research goals.

Responsibilities include data cleaning, basic statistics, and script support across Linux/Windows environments, with collaboration among domain experts and the research team. This is a full-time, on-site role in Doha.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in bioinformatics, computer science, evolutionary biology, genetics, computational biology or a related discipline.
• Up to 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists in retrieving, cleaning, and preparing datasets for analysis, ensuring data accuracy and readiness for further processing.
• Performs basic statistical analyses and contributes to the generation of basic visual outputs such as charts and tables to support ongoing projects.
• Provides support in the development, execution, and troubleshooting of scripts under supervision and guidance of senior team members.
• Documents workflows, analysis steps, and coding processes systematically, and contributes to maintaining well-organized and up-to-date data records.
• Applies established bioinformatics tools and collaborates with domain experts to support data analysis and visualization under supervision.
• Actively participates in team meetings and works collaboratively with others to contribute to shared research goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
