Job summary
Swan Global is seeking an Instrument Technician for a short-term project in Ras Laffan, Qatar. The role involves installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of field instrumentation to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
The candidate should have a Diploma/ITI in Instrumentation and extensive experience in oil & gas environments, with strong knowledge of field instruments, PLC/DCS, and calibration tools.
Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI in Instrumentation or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in oil & gas or petrochemical industries.
- Strong knowledge of field instruments, PLC/DCS systems, and calibration tools.
- Experience with plant shutdowns, maintenance or commissioning is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and calibration of field instruments (transmitters, sensors, gauges, valves, flow meters, analyzers).
- Diagnose and repair instrumentation faults and minimize downtime.
- Assist in loop checking, commissioning and start-up activities.
- Document and report maintenance activities accurately.
- Adhere to safety standards and permit-to-work procedures on site.
- Coordinate with control room and maintenance teams on instrumentation issues.
- Support engineering in upgrades or modifications to instrumentation systems.
