Job Description

The candidate must be able to:

  • Answer the telephone within 3 rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette.
  • Record and confirm restaurant reservations/cancellations in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Communicate reservation/cancellation changes to management as they arise throughout the shift.
  • Monitor the preparation of own assignments, ensuring compliance with departmental standards.
  • Ensure that all menus and check folders are clean and sufficiently stocked.
  • Keep the hostess stand clean and organized.
  • Review the reservation book, pre-assign designated tables, and follow up on all special requests.
  • Greet guests at the entrance of the restaurant.
  • Seat guests according to the floor plan, ensuring fairness to each waiter.
  • Show guests to their designated tables.
  • Ensure guests are satisfied with their seating.
  • Present the menu to guests.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Be familiar with hotel services and activities to respond accurately to guest inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in Food & Beverage/Restaurant operations, preferably in a similar quality hotel.
  • A friendly, outgoing personality, capable of supporting and involving in operations.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently.
