Job summary

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–8 years in dock or shipyard operations.
  • Must have strong marine experience, preferably in shipwright or dry‑dock environments.
  • Gulf or overseas shipyard experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and carry out daily dock operations, including docking and undocking of vessels.
  • Assist in positioning vessels safely in dry docks or slipways.
  • Coordinate with dock engineers and supervisors to plan and execute work schedules.
  • Inspect and maintain dock structures, fittings, and equipment for operational readiness.
  • Guide and lead dock laborers in cleaning, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed during lifting, moving, or securing vessels.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment within the dock area.

Skills

The Sr. Dock Worker (Shipwright Department) will be responsible for supervising and executing dock operations, including vessel docking, undocking, and maintenance support within the shipyard. Job Role & Responsibilities
  • Supervise and carry out daily dock operations, including docking and undocking of vessels.
  • Assist in positioning vessels safely in dry docks or slipways.
  • Coordinate with dock engineers and supervisors to plan and execute work schedules.
  • Inspect and maintain dock structures, fittings, and equipment for operational readiness.
  • Guide and lead dock laborers in cleaning, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Handle ropes, chains, blocks, and other rigging tools used in docking operations.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed during lifting, moving, or securing vessels.
  • Support shipwright and maintenance teams during vessel repair and construction works.
  • Report any equipment malfunction or safety hazard to supervisors immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment within the dock area.
Requirements
