Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW :

• We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HGV Technician to join our team in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining servicing and repairing heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role is crucial to supporting our logistics operations and ensuring our fleet is operating efficiently safely and in full compliance with local regulations.

KEY RESULTS / ACCOUNTABILITIES EXPECTED FROM THE ROLE :

• Perform routine maintenance inspections and diagnostics on HGVs (trucks trailers etc.).
• Identify faults and carry out repairs on engines transmissions braking systems hydraulics and electrical components.
• Conduct pre-delivery inspections and prepare vehicles for road worthiness certification.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and determine the appropriate solutions.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs in accordance with company and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with the fleet and operations team to ensure timely servicing and minimum vehicle downtime.
• Follow all safety protocols manufacturer guidelines and local regulations.
• Ensure workshop tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
• Provide on-site emergency mechanical support when needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS :

• With 3 5 years of experience as an HGV Technician Diesel Mechanic or equivalent role.
• Technical diploma or certification in automotive or mechanical engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Strong knowledge of HGV systems such as air brakes transmissions and electronic controls.
• Competence in using diagnostic equipment and interpreting technical data.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a multicultural team environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic language skills are a plus but not required).
• Valid driver s license (Heavy Vehicle license is an advantage but not mandatory).
• Experience in the GCC or similar environments is beneficial but not essential.
