Primary Purpose of the Job

The Head of IOF Project (Business Processes) is responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team to drive QatarEnergy's Intelligent Oil Field (IOF) Program, to manage digital transformation initiatives focused on subsurface, drilling, and production management for operated assets. This is done by implementing vendor solutions, developing internal applications, improving workflows, and updating governance frameworks and standards in collaboration with subsurface teams and ICT to enhance operational efficiency, align with industry best practices, and deliver sustainable value through optimized processes and technology integration.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Minimum of 15 years progressive experience in the Oil & Gas industry, including at least 10 years of direct technical expertise and management of Intelligent Oil Field (IOF) / Upstream digitalization projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of the Oil and Gas industry, with practical experience in two or more of Field Development, Drilling, Well / Reservoir / Facility management, Real Time Operations, digital transformation technologies, and integrated projects for enhanced Efficiency / Decision-making.
  • Well-versed in industry standards relevant to the oil and gas industry
  • Previous experience as a supervisor with direct reports, including career development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English are required; this role communicates to a broad set of audiences, including management, customers, contractors, software vendors, and staff. Written and verbal communication skills in Arabic are highly valued.
  • Highly motivated and have high degree of confidence, reliance, and interdependence to work across different departments and functions.
  • Practical experience in negotiating, establishing, and managing partnerships, contracts, and agreements with internal and external stakeholders is valued.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or similar.
