Primary Purpose of the Job

Play a pivotal role in QatarEnergy’s digital transformation by leading the delivery of innovative digital solutions that optimize operations, enhance safety, and unlock new business value. As Head of Digital Technology, you will guide a dynamic team in designing and implementing cutting‑edge Cloud AI, and analytics initiatives. You will work closely with business leaders, IT, and global technology partners to ensure digital excellence. By championing Agile methodologies, you will accelerate innovation, enable rapid delivery, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Experience and Skills
  • Strategic Leadership: 15+ years of progressive experience in Oil & Gas (Operations, Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Drilling & Wells, Reservoir, or Geosciences), with at least 6 years in digital transformation roles.
  • Agile Delivery: Demonstrated experience leading digital teams and programs using Agile methodologies, with a focus on rapid prototyping, iterative delivery, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Digital Innovation: Proven success in leading large‑scale digital programs, including Data Analytics, AI, and ML on the cloud within the energy sector.
  • Change Management: Demonstrated ability to drive digital adoption, foster a culture of innovation, and lead cross‑functional teams through change.
  • Business Impact: Strong track record of identifying and delivering high‑impact digital use cases with measurable ROI.
  • Financial Acumen: Experience managing digital budgets, vendor relationships, and performance metrics.
  • Industry Insight: Up‑to‑date knowledge of IoT, automation, cybersecurity, and sustainability trends in Oil & Gas.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
Educational Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Oil & Gas, Energy Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and extensive (15+ years) relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) are highly desirable.
  • Professional certifications in digital transformation, cloud, AI, Agile, or related technologies are an advantage.
