Job description

A Head Chef managing a Members Club is responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while seeking customer feedback, training staff, controlling costs, and covering all business needs.

What will I be doing

As a Head Chef you are responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Head Chef will also be required to ensure that all operational quality and administrative functions are carried out properly. Specifically you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

1. Menu Development
  • Create and design innovative seasonal menus that reflect the club's upscale standards and cater to the diverse tastes of our members.
  • Ensure that the menu aligns with the overall concept of the club and enhances the dining experience.
2. Team Leadership
  • Lead, manage and mentor a dynamic kitchen team ensuring efficient operations and maintaining high standards.
  • Train kitchen staff on food preparation, presentation and hygiene practices ensuring consistency and quality in all dishes.
3. Quality Control
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of food to ensure it meets the club's standards for taste, quality and appearance.
  • Regularly monitor and inspect the kitchen storage areas and equipment to maintain cleanliness and organisation.
4. Inventory Management
  • Manage food inventory and ordering of supplies ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining stock levels for uninterrupted service.
  • Control waste and portioning minimising food costs and ensuring profitability.
5. Health & Safety Compliance
  • Ensure the kitchen complies with all local health and safety regulations, food safety standards and hygiene policies.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of food safety procedures and implement them within the team.
6. Member Engagement
  • Interact with members to gather feedback on food quality and service ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns.
  • Adapt menu offerings based on member preferences and seasonal trends.
7. Collaboration with Front of House
  • Work closely with the Front of House management team to ensure smooth communication between the kitchen and dining room.
  • Coordinate with the restaurant team for timely and accurate service ensuring members have an exceptional dining experience.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
  • Formal culinary training or a relevant qualification (e.g. culinary arts diploma, apprenticeship)
  • Proven track record of leading and managing a kitchen team ideally in a signature restaurant or luxury establishment
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high‑end restaurant or members club environment with at least 2 years in a head chef or senior kitchen management role

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Previous culinary experience in a similar role
  • Passion for food
  • Knowledge of current food trends
  • High level of IT proficiency
  • Proficiency in English (Arabic is a plus)
