A Handyman is responsible t o maintain repair and install plumbing systems fixtures and equipment to ensure proper and safe operation.

What will I be doing

As a Handyman you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards :

Respond to requests throughout the facility to make the necessary repairs to plumbing fixtures in a timely and courteous manner. Maintain repair and replace water steam gas and drain piping within the facility to ensure proper operation and function of piping system. The plumber must be familiar with piping materials sizes measurements and posses skills in pipe threading and sweating copper. Knowledge of installing PVC no- hub threaded and copper pipe necessary. The work will involve lifting and carrying materials or equipments up to 80 pounds working in ceilings and from ladders or other uneven surfaces. He or she aill also need to work in confined spaces awkward positions wet unpleasant and unsanitary conditions as required.

Maintain repair and replace plumbing fixtures valves and steam traps to keep equipment in working order. The plumber must have considerable knowledge of plumbing system abd fixture in order to resolve problems and make repairs. The individual must be able to use the tools required of the tarde such a electricsanke threading machine and basic hand tool. Working in confined spaces and lifting of materials up to 80 pounds is required.

Maintain fire standpipe sprinkler system and fire extinguishers throughout the facility to ensure proper working condition and fire protection in compliance with local regulatory codes. Lifting and carrying of fire extinguisher weighing up to 50 lbs. is required.

Maintain grease traps and sewage ejector pits to prevent waste line blockages. The plumber will be required to keep the equipment clean and maintained on a routine basis. Chemical treatment is required to maintain these systems.
