Job summary

A major energy company in Qatar is seeking an experienced Instrument Technician to carry out troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of field instruments. The ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry, along with a diploma in Instrumentation. Proficiency in English and knowledge of hazardous areas are preferred.

Qualifications

• 6 to 8 years of experience as Instrument Technician in a refinery, oil & gas or petrochemical industry.
• Desirable knowledge on hazardous area classification and smart field instruments.
• Work experience in Arabian Gulf countries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and overhauling of field instruments.
• Calibration of different types of field instruments.
• Work assigned by the Lead Instrument Engineer.

Job description

Primary Purpose Of The Job

Carries out troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, overhaul and calibration of different types of field instruments installed in any plant/unit of QatarEnergy Refinery as assigned by Lead Instrument Engineer.

Required Experience And Skills

• At least 6 to 8 years of experience as Instrument technician in Refinery, Oil & Gas or petrochemical industry with sound knowledge in measurement principles, installation, commissioning, maintenance and overhauling of various field instruments.
• Knowledge on hazardous area classification, smart field instruments interface with DCS and PLC is desirable.
• Knowledge about International Standards and Best practices of Instrumentation in Refining, Oil& Gas and Petrochemical Industries is an added advantage.
• Should be highly proficient and have excellent command in spoken/written English. Work experience in the Arabian Gulf Countries is desirable.

Educational Qualifications

Diploma in Instrumentation/Control Systems Engineering from a well-recognized College/University
