Job description

We are looking for a FOPS Lead for one of our clients with the following details :

Location: Doha, Qatar

Start Date: Jan-2026

End Date: Dec-2027

Work status: ONSHORE / OFFSHORE, residential- single status

Qualification and Experience Required:
  • 10+yrs in similar roles within the oil and gas industry
  • Proven track record working both with design consultancies and operating companies
  • Strong background in oil and gas production, with hands‑on expertise in process engineering
  • Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail
  • Deep understanding of production systems and operational workflows
  • Extensive experience in designing offshore top-side process facilities
  • Solid grasp of flow assurance principles and their practical applications
  • Proficient in process simulation tools, particularly Aspen HYSYS
  • Minimum education level : Bachelor of Science (BSc) or equivalent degree in Process Engineering
  • Sound understanding of relevant international codes and standards. Knowledge of company standards and MANASA is an advantage,
  • Language : Fluent English,
  • Computer literate with good communication and transverse skills,
  • Experience in stakeholder / Shareholder communication and management
  • Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment,
  • Good analytical skills,
  • Available for missions on and offshore (H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET training required)
Activities
HSEQ responsibilities:
  • Ensure that HSE is given the highest priority
  • Promote HSEQ awareness of workforce at all levels through pro‑active attitude (site tour management, HSEQ meetings, incentives actions) within Project team and Contractors
  • Ensure that the newly designed platforms conform to company standards
During project phases (Basic engineering):
  • Focal point for interface between MP‑FOPS and Project for Operational alignment
  • Follow‑up on production related studies (if any, e.g., process, flow assurance, well performance)
  • Ensure adequate chemical injection plan for new facilities (when applicable)
  • Review the Safety Engineering deliverables and participates to reviews as required
  • Effectively contribute to HAZOP, HAZID, PRs, JRA discussions, representing FOPS and assist to close the generated actions effectively
  • Participate / gets involved in Operability / Maintainability studies and 3D model reviews
  • Ensure adequacy of projects design basis with existing ALS Field bottlenecks or their coherence with identified debottlenecking actions.
  • Identify any integration actions to conduct prior handover of new facilities (PDMS, FOMS…)
  • Provide input and support Head of Operations for preparation of the operating philosophy, incremental operating budgets (OPEX) and manning profiles for the COO & Field Operations Group Manager to fulfill Operational requirements
  • Prepare adequate feedback (REX, Return of Experience) at the end of each Project stage.
  • Through lessons learnt ensure application of continuous improvements to future projects (not limited to the Operations discipline)
  • Provision of fit‑for‑purpose design by Contractor that is constructible and that fulfils operational requirements and has low maintenance and running costs.
  • Minimizing shortfalls during MP installation / integration scopes. Deconflicting activities in close coordination with IOP and OPS.
  • Development of EPS (Early Production Schemes) to accelerate First Oil recovery from newly delivered wells.
  • Support MP‑FOPS site teams with issues that are cross platform or can not be resolved on site.
  • Support start‑up team in preparation for and during start‑up phase
  • Assist with resolving engineering related issues identified during start‑up.
