Sunlightintex in Doha, Qatar is seeking an experienced Finance Controller to oversee financial operations for an interior fit-out, event and exhibition company. The role covers project finance, budgeting, cost control, cash flow management, accounting and compliance across multiple projects.

You will work closely with project managers and leadership to ensure accurate project costing, profitability, and timely financial reporting.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• ACCA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Finance Controller or Finance Manager.
• At least 2 years in construction, interior fit-out, or event and exhibition operations.
• Strong knowledge of project accounting, job costing, VAT in Bahrain, and contract management.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, or Xero.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage financial responsibilities under tight event deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee project finance budgets, cost estimates, and cash flow forecasts for fit-out tenders.
• Track job costing for materials, labour, subcontractors, variations, and claims.
• Review WIP reports, project profitability, and cost-to-complete estimates for each site.
• Approve site purchase orders and ensure procurement activities remain within approved budgets.
• Manage progress billing, retention amounts, and client and subcontractor payments.
• Prepare event budgets and costing sheets; monitor rental income, booth sales, sponsorship revenue and vendor costs.
• Manage payment deadlines, deposits, final payments, and on-site cash handling.
• Reconcile event profit and loss within seven days of event completion.
• Control inventory of rental items, graphics, and other assets.
• Oversee full-cycle accounting, including accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and VAT.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analyses, and board reports.
• Manage cash flow and working capital across projects and events.
• Ensure compliance with Bahrain VAT, LMRA, GOSI, and company policies.
• Liaise with auditors and banks, including credit facilities and bank guarantees.
• Implement and improve ERP/accounting systems and internal controls.

Job Overview

An opportunity is available for an experienced Finance Controller to oversee financial operations for an interior fit-out, event, and exhibition company in Doha, Qatar. The role combines project finance, budgeting, cost control, cash flow management, accounting, and financial compliance across multiple projects and events.

The Finance Controller will work closely with project managers and management to maintain accurate project costing, monitor profitability, manage working capital, and support effective financial decision-making. Responsibilities also include event budgeting, vendor cost monitoring, rental income reconciliation, and timely financial reporting following event completion.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience as a Finance Controller or Finance Manager, including two or more years in construction, interior fit-out, or event and exhibition operations. Strong project accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and experience with ERP or accounting systems are important for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Finance – Interior Fit-Out

• Prepare project budgets, cost estimates, and cash flow forecasts for fit-out tenders.
• Track job costing for materials, labour, subcontractors, variations, and claims.
• Review work-in-progress (WIP) reports, project profitability, and cost-to-complete estimates for each site.
• Approve site purchase orders and ensure procurement activities remain within approved budgets.

2. Event & Exhibition Finance

• Prepare event budgets and costing sheets based on client requirements.
• Monitor rental income, booth sales, sponsorship revenue, and vendor costs.

• Reconcile event profit and loss within seven days of event completion.
• Control inventory of rental items, graphics, and other company assets.

3. Core Finance & Compliance

• Oversee full-cycle accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliation, and VAT.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analyses, and board reports.
• Manage cash flow and working capital across ongoing projects and events.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Bahrain VAT, LMRA, GOSI, and company policies, as specified by the employer.
• Liaise with auditors and banks, including handling credit facilities and letters of credit or bank guarantees when required.
