Job summary

Avanta Works in Doha, Qatar seeks an experienced Optometrist to join our clinical team. You will perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular diseases, and counsel patients on vision care and correction options.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Optometry and a valid Qatar license with at least two years of practice. The role includes on-site duties and providing emergency eye care when needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in Optometry and a valid license to practice in Qatar.
• Minimum of two years’ experience as an Optometrist.

Responsibilities

• Manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes and other conditions.
• Diagnose ocular diseases.
• Interpret diagnostic tests.
• Monitor the progress of ocular diseases.
• Prescribe medications.
• Fit contact lenses.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care.
• Refer patients to specialists when necessary.
• Educate patients on proper eye care techniques.
• Counsel patients regarding vision correction options such as eyeglasses or contact lenses.
• Keep patient records up-to-date.
• Provide emergency services when necessary.
