A leading contracting and trading firm in Qatar seeks an experienced Electrical Technical Engineer. Responsibilities include managing MEP coordination, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and guiding technical engineers. The ideal candidate has a professional degree, is UPDA certified, and possesses strong knowledge of electrical standards and codes. With a minimum of 8 years of experience, including GCC exposure, this role offers opportunity for growth and development.
The Electrical Technical Engineer supervises and follows up electrical draftsmen work schedule, verifies and checks electrical shop drawings and technical submittals.
Manage and liaise with the MEP coordinators, main contractor technical team, consultant, etc.
Ensure the discipline shop drawings are prepared in accordance with the relevant design drawings, specifications, details in coordination with all other disciplines.
Ensure that the drawings submission schedule is efficiently within the target schedule in the best quality.
Ensure the shop drawings are executed in compliance with local authorities that have jurisdiction over the discipline scope of work i.e. KM, QCDD, Ooredoo, Health and Safety and all standards applicable to the project such as QCS2014 and the project specifications.
Ensure adherence to the relevant Company's policies and procedures.
Ensure the satisfaction of the client, consultant and main contractor and MEP project manager/CM always.
Guide the technical engineers/draftsmen through the work activities management process throughout the duration of the project engineering phase.
Assign specific targets to the various work activities.
Plan and allocate responsibilities to team members.
Review and approve Electrical shop drawings and design calculations before submission.
Review and sign‑off Electrical material technical submittal before issuance to consultant.
Review and approve method statements in compliance with project specifications, authorities, etc.
To liaise with other technical departments for the relevant reviews, approvals etc.
Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.

UPDA Certified Engineer or Certification with attestation
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Minimum 8 year(s) working experience, 5 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year(s) GCC is a plus.
