This position requires physical fitness, good hand-eye coordination and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. A high school diploma is preferred but not required; minimal experience is acceptable for foreign applicants.

Responsibilities

• Construct, repair, maintain, and alter structures made of brick, stone, tile, concrete block, terra cotta blocks or other masonry materials.
• Read blueprints and follow instructions of supervisors.
• Mix and apply mortar to join masonry units together.
• Cut and shape stone or brick to fit into specified spaces using saws, chisels, or other tools.
• Lay bricks in specified patterns with precision using trowels and other tools.
• Use a level to check the verticality (plumb) of finished walls.
• Apply waterproofing material or sealants to masonry surfaces as needed.
