WorkWavez Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Detection Engineering Consultant to join its cybersecurity team in Doha, Qatar.

The role requires 6+ years of cybersecurity experience and hands-on expertise in detection engineering, SIEM platforms, and threat detection. You will develop and optimize detection capabilities using Splunk ES, SPL, or FortiSIEM, map use cases to MITRE ATT&CK, and tune alerts to reduce false positives while maintaining coverage.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of cybersecurity experience.
• Experience in Detection Engineering.
• Hands-on with Splunk ES/SPL or FortiSIEM.
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Experience with alert tuning and false-positive reduction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain security detection use cases across enterprise environments.
• Create and optimize correlation rules for effective threat detection.
• Develop and manage detection logic using Splunk ES/SPL or FortiSIEM.
• Map detection use cases to the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Perform alert tuning to improve detection accuracy.
• Identify and reduce false positives while maintaining effective threat coverage.
• Analyze security alerts and detection performance.
• Collaborate with Security Operations and cybersecurity teams to improve detection capabilities.
• Review existing detection rules and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Support the development of scalable and effective security monitoring processes.
• Document detection logic, use cases, tuning activities, and technical procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of enterprise security detection and monitoring capabilities.
