Job summary

Responsibilities

• Preparing patients for treatment by welcoming them, providing instructions, and seating them in the dental chair
• Assisting dentists during procedures such as scaling and root planing, fillings, crowns, bridges, and extractions
• Documenting patient care services by charting in patient records
• Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health
• Sterilizing instruments and equipment before and after each procedure
• Taking impressions of teeth for study casts
• Scheduling follow-up appointments as needed
• Providing postoperative instructions to patients as prescribed by dentist.
