DCS Engineer - Honeywell Experion

Location: Ras Laffan, Qatar

Contract: Initial 1-year contract, with possibility to extend

Overview

We are seeking an experienced DCS Engineer with expertise in Honeywell Experion systems to develop, implement, and maintain process control strategies and logics. The role ensures reliable performance, integration, and compliance of distributed control systems across the Pearl GTL plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement process control strategies and logics in Honeywell Experion DCS
• Analyze control strategies and system interfaces to improve process control reliability and availability
• Perform system integration, testing, and commissioning of new project requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve DCS hardware and software issues
• Implement change management flawlessly
• Support risk assessments for management of change and permit-to-work processes
• Prepare and maintain system design specifications, work instructions, and procedures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless operation of control systems
• Provide technical support, training, and coaching to local personnel
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 15 years' experience working with Honeywell Experion DCS
• Strong knowledge of process control principles and instrumentation
• Proficiency in Control Builder programming and configurationExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in oil and gas, chemical, or petrochemical industries
• Certification in Honeywell Experion systems
