Job summary

QatarEnergy LNG in Qatar is seeking a seasoned cost and contracts professional to coordinate estimation activities, develop contract strategies, and ensure timely submissions across departments. You will collaborate with Finance, Supply, and OPCO Budget teams to optimize costs and maintain financial discipline.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or business administration and about eight years in cost and contracts within oil and gas.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cost estimation activities run smoothly and drive cost optimization.
• Develop strategies for key contracts including fair pricing negotiations.
• Review demand plans and ensure timely submission with Supply.
• Coordinate with Supply and Finance to clear invoices and support budgeting.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and track section KPIs.
• Maintain action tracking, monthly reports, and contract files.
• Develop and execute CWOs and close-out contracts.
• Forecast and report contract costs to keep within contract value.

Job description

• Coordinate with lead in assisting and completing strategic cost and contract related activities within the section, ensuring timely submissions, and contributing to cost optimizatio n.

Key Job Accountabilities - I

• Ensure smooth functioning and effective implementation of key tasks and oversee the cost estimation activities, in coordination with lead, to ensure efficiency and cost optimization.
• Assist with developing strategies for key contracts including negotiation strategies to obtain fair prices and maintain cost effectiveness.
• Review demand plans prepared by various departments to ensure they are compiled and submitted as per the timelines agreed with Supply department.
• Coordinate and liaise with the Supply department to maintain clear lines of communication.
• Liaise with the Finance Department to ensure invoices are cleared on time. Coordinate and support the OPCO Budget and Reporting team, submitting all deliverables on time.

Key Job Accountabilities - II

• Coordinate all internal and external audits for the section, facilitating compliance and areas of improvement. Finalize and maintain updated status of the section KPIs, ensuring performance metrics are accurately tracked and reported.
• Maintain an updated action tracking register and review monthly reports to identify and implement necessary actions in coordination with the lead.
• Maintain updated contracts list and track the validity and cap value utilization of the contracts on a continuous basis, ensuring that all contracts are current and maintaining budgetary and contractual compliance.
• Develop and execute Contract Work Orders (CWO), including ensuring efficient management of the final payments and successful contract close-out.
• Track, forecast and report the contract cost periodically to make sure actual cost/expenditures do not exceed the value of contracts by the end of the respective contracts’ term .

Qualifications
