Construction Superintendent – Greenfield (Onshore)

Location: Qatar (Onshore)
Contract Type: Long-term contract (36 months)
Schedule: 10 hours/day, 6 days/week, approx. 26 days/month

Overview

A major onshore energy development is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee all greenfield construction activities for a large sulphur-processing facility. The role covers the full construction lifecycle, from early execution through to handover to commissioning teams. It requires strong coordination skills and close collaboration with EPC contractors to achieve safe, high-quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, comment on, and approve construction execution procedures and deliverables from the EPC contractor
• Promote collaborative working across project teams, contractors, and subcontractors
• Influence engineering decisions to improve constructability and commissioning readiness
• Support a diverse workforce and drive productivity across the site
• Facilitate regular coordination meetings to resolve issues and maintain progress
• Recommend solutions that enhance safety and construction effectiveness
• Coordinate closely with project management functions including safety, quality, engineering, procurement, and contracts
• Support operational and logistics activities as required
• Perform additional duties as assigned by senior construction leadership

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Construction Management preferred but not essential
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in fabrication, construction, and multi-discipline project execution
• Background as a discipline engineer, project engineer, field engineer, construction superintendent, or construction manager
• Experience working on large greenfield projects in oil and gas or heavy industrial sectors
• Strong understanding of construction codes, design standards, specifications, and safety requirements
• Knowledge of fabrication, installation, hook-up, and large-scale construction methods
• Experience within major operators or large project environments
• Strong communication, planning, and coordination skills
• Proficient with standard office software
• Regional experience in Qatar or the GCC is beneficial but not essential
