Job summary

Premium Solutions Consultancy is hiring a Quantity Surveyor /Coating Inspector for a client in the oil and gas field in Qatar. We are looking for a dedicated professional with extensive experience in offshore oil and gas production environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in painting inspection, the ability to read and understand engineering drawings, and the capability to work in challenging conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work in an offshore oil and gas production environment.
  • Conduct painting inspections and understand the scope of work.
  • Read and interpret specifications, engineering drawings including ISO’s, P&IDs, plot plans, piping plans, and similar documents.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and PPE requirements in offshore and onshore environments.
  • Enter inspection data into the required format accurately.
  • Conduct pre-job site walks to identify work scope for the coating refurbishment team.
  • Cross-check painting contractors' measured quantities upon job award and identify punch list items.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an offshore oil and gas production environment.
  • Extensive painting inspection background.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with safety and PPE requirements in offshore/onshore environments.
  • Ability to conduct site walks and identify work scope for coating refurbishment.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in generating reports using standard MS Office software.
  • Physically fit and able to climb to access small areas (vessels, tanks, pipe racks, etc.).
Memberships (required):
  • Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) - is a plus
  • Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES) - is a plus
Certifications (required for Coating Quantity Surveyor):
  • NACE Certified Coating Inspector Level-2 or
  • British Gas Certified Painting Inspector Grade-1, ICorr Certified Insulation Inspector Level-2 (a plus)
  • ICorr Certified Fireproofing Inspector Level-2 (a plus)
Additional Requirements:

Motivated and capable of working with little supervision, often in hot, humid, and harsh conditions at high elevations.

Ability to work from P&ID and isometric drawings and written specifications.

Ability to calculate areas of simple structures for coating refurbishment purposes.
