As the Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring the well‑being and development of children in our care, and managing a team of passionate educators. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment that supports children’s growth and learning.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Lead and manage a team of early childhood educators and support staff.
- Develop and maintain a positive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment.
- Conduct regular staff meetings, performance evaluations, and professional development activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and licensing requirements.
Curriculum and Program Development
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that promote children’s learning and development.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum, adjusting as needed.
- Foster creativity and innovation in teaching practices.
Child Welfare and Development
- Prioritize the safety, well‑being, and developmental needs of each child.
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians, addressing their concerns and needs.
- Create and maintain child portfolios to track developmental progress.
Administrative Duties
- Oversee daily administrative tasks, including enrollment, attendance, and record‑keeping.
- Manage budgets, resources, and supplies efficiently.
- Collaborate with the management team on strategic planning and goals.
Health and Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe environment for children and staff.
- Develop and implement emergency procedures and protocols.
Skills
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role with an early childhood education setting.
- Strong leadership and management skills, including team building and conflict resolution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with relevant local and national regulations.
- Passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing a nurturing and enriching environment for children.
- Fluent in English.
