Job summary

Workato is seeking a Chemical Engineer - Process Development Specialist in Lusail, Qatar. You will develop and optimize chemical processes to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and ensure safety and environmental compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, 3 years of process development experience, and strong skills in thermodynamics, kinetics, DOE, and data interpretation. Collaboration across teams and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of process development experience in the chemical industry.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, kinetics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, mass transfer.
• Familiarity with Aspen Plus or ChemCAD.
• Experience with design of experiments (DOE) methodology.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret data.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills with the ability to effectively present technical information.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and experiments to develop new chemical processes or improve existing ones.
• Analyze data and results to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations.
• Design process equipment and systems, including selecting appropriate materials and ensuring compatibility with chemicals.
• Collaborate with other engineers, scientists, and technicians to conduct trials, tests, and scale-up processes.
• Monitor production processes to identify potential issues and troubleshoot problems.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new processes or modifications to existing ones.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations in all process development activities.
