Chemical Engineer - Process Development Specialist

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chemical Engineer to join our team in Lusail, Qatar. As a Process Development Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing chemical processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research and experiments to develop new chemical processes or improve existing ones
• Analyze data and results to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations
• Design process equipment and systems, including selecting appropriate materials and ensuring compatibility with chemicals
• Collaborate with other engineers, scientists, and technicians to conduct trials, tests, and scale-up processes
• Monitor production processes to identify potential issues and troubleshoot problems
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new processes or modifications to existing ones
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations in all process development activities

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in process development in the chemical industry
• Strong knowledge of chemical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, kinetics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, mass transfer
• Familiarity with process simulation software such as Aspen Plus or ChemCAD
• Experience with design of experiments (DOE) methodology
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret data
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills with the ability to effectively present technical information
