Job summary

QatarEnergy is seeking a senior cargo operations supervisor to manage and supervise cargo handling on vessels, including stevedoring and equipment management, in Ras Laffan Industrial City. The role requires extensive experience in oil/gas ports and dry cargo terminals, with strong knowledge of port safety and contracts.

The ideal candidate will have Deck Officer Class 1 and/or a university degree with substantial port/marine experience, and will oversee dock facilities and terminal operations

• Knowledge of port safety, accident prevention codes and marine regulations.

Job description

Primary Purpose of the Job

Responsible for the management and supervision of cargo operations on vessels, including stevedoring and equipment management functions, relating to all aspects of cargo handling and logistics support services.

Required Experience and Skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of cargo operations planning for dry cargoes and oil terminals including stevedore operations of a multi cargo port.
• Thorough knowledge of port operations contracts and experience in managing port labour.
• Thorough knowledge of port safety, accident prevention codes, regulations and marine industry governmental regulations related to ports.
• Considerable knowledge of the management and commercial use of dock areas, warehouse facilities and terminals.

Educational Qualifications

Deck Officer Class 1 1/1 certificate of competency with at least 5 years senior officer experience in oil, gas or dry cargo vessels and 5 years of port operations experience or University Degree with 7 years of experience within port / marine industry
