Job Title: Assistant Electrician – Offshore Jackup Rig
Location: Offshore Qatar (North Field Expansion, Halul Island, or Contracted Rigs)
Employment Type: Rotational (42/21)
Reporting To: Chief Electrician / Electrical Supervisor

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical System Support
    • Assist in maintenance & troubleshooting of HV/LV switchgear (Siemens, ABB)
    • Assist in maintenance & troubleshooting of drilling equipment circuits (VFDs, top drives, drawworks)
    • Assist in maintenance & troubleshooting of emergency systems (UPS, batteries, lighting)
  • Preventive Maintenance
    • Perform thermal imaging checks on electrical panels
    • Conduct insulation resistance tests on motors/cables
    • Replace contactors, relays, and breakers
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Follow Qatar Energy (QP) electrical safety standards
    • Adhere to ATEX/IECEx protocols in hazardous zones
  • Emergency Response
    • Support blackout recovery and equipment failures
Requirements
  • Qualifications & Certifications
    • Mandatory:
      • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or 2+ years offshore experience
      • BOSIET/FOET with HUET (Offshore Survival & Helicopter Escape)
      • Qatar Ministry of Public Health Medical Certificate
