Job summary

University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) seeks a faculty member to develop, deliver, and evaluate courses in Occupational Health Safety and Environment within the College of Health Sciences. The successful candidate will liaise with industry, participate in advisory committees, and help coordinate projects within the program area.

Qualifications include a PhD in OHS&E (or a Master/Bachelor in the field), plus professional licensure.

Qualifications

• PhD in Occupational Health Safety and Environment or Master/Bachelor in OHS&E if PhD not in field.
• Professional licensure with a recognized registry/body (IOSH, CRSP, CSP or NEBOSH) is preferred.
• Education-related qualifications (education degree/diploma) and teaching experience preferred at post-secondary level.
• Demonstrated ability to employ diverse teaching approaches and educational technology in classroom and practicum settings.
• Strong commitment to applied and experiential learning and lifelong professional development.

Reporting to the Department Head the successful candidate will be responsible for the development delivery and evaluation of a broad range of courses in Occupational Health Safety and Environment within the College of Health Sciences S he will evaluate student progress and manage the resources of the learning environment The successful candidate will liaise with industry and other educational institutions participate in industry advisory committees and coordinate manage and control projects within the specified program area Faculty members will keep course portfolio documents required for accreditation processes and engage in instructional development improvement plans All employees are expected to contribute to professional and community life within the University and beyond Qualifications and Experience Requirements

Education

• Education PhD degree in Occupational Health Safety and Environment from a recognized, accredited post-secondary institution is required.
• Those whose PhD is not in Occupational Health Safety and Environment must hold a master s or bachelor s degree in occupational health and safety.
• Professional licensure and current registration with a recognized Occupational Health and Safety registry/body, e.g., IOSH, CRSP, CSP and NEBOSH tutor experience is preferred.
• A certificate, diploma or degree in Education (Secondary/Post-Secondary), and teaching experience, preferably at a post-secondary level is preferred.

Experience

• Experience Five years of relevant employment experience and professional licensure and current registration with a recognized Occupational Health and Safety registry/body is required.
• Demonstrated ability to use diverse and current teaching approaches in the classroom and for practice experiences including the laboratory, simulation, and practicums.
• Demonstrated ability to use a variety of educational technology and platforms.
• Demonstrated academic and information literacy skills.
• Expertise in curriculum development is desirable.

Scholarship and Research

Demonstrated performance in scholarship that contributes to the advancement of Occupational Health and Safety health practice; advancement of Occupational health and safety-related knowledge; and/or, related publication, knowledge dissemination, curriculum development and pedagogy.
