Job summary

Qatar Airways Group is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic - Machinist to work in Doha, Qatar. The role involves operating CNC milling, CNC lathe and vertical drilling machines in a busy MRO environment, along with manual CNC programming and adherence to rigorous airworthiness standards.

The candidate should have a mix of high school/technical qualifications or a bachelor’s degree with relevant experience, plus ICAO-type license and training certificates.

Qualifications

• Operate CNC milling/lathe and vertical drilling machines in a reputable aircraft maintenance environment.
• Perform manual CNC programming and use standard tooling for component repair/fabrication.
• Understand and apply airworthiness instructions and aircraft maintenance manuals.
• Basic knowledge of Siemens NX software and safety procedures for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, CMMS and repair drawings.
• Operate and set up CNC machines and drilling/boring equipment.

About the role

We are recruiting for Aircraft Mechanic - Machinist to be based in Doha, Qatar.

Qualifications and Experience

To operate CNC milling, CNC lathe & vertical drilling machines in reputable aircraft maintenance environment/MRO/Aircraft Parts Manufacturing Facility.

Use of Drilling, boring, honing machines tooling and fixtures. Additionally, knowledge of standard tooling is mandatory

To carry out CNC machines manual programming

Basic understanding of Siemens NX software.

Understanding and adherence to safety and operating instruction based on manufacturing instructions

Ability to follow airworthiness instruction to ensure compliance

Reads and interprets aircraft maintenance manuals/Component Maintenance Manuals, Structure Repair Manual and drawings to determine requirement component repair/fabrication requirements.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

Qualifications and Experience

• High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 3 years of job-related experience OR
• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 2 years of job-related experience
• Degree or Equivalent Diploma/License in Aircraft Maintenance.
• Basic ICAO type II license.
• Trade related Certificates
• At least one-year practical experience in the technical field within a similar work area.
• Trade related reinforcement training.
• Recognized aeronautical / technical training certificates.
• Sufficient skills within work area or 1-year experience in similar workshop in a recognized airline.
