Qualifications

• Medical degree with specialist qualification in Psychiatry.
• Eligible for specialist licensure in Psychiatry in the State of Qatar.
• Up-to-date Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credentials.
• Minimum of: 1 year of specialist psychiatry experience for holders of recognized List A qualifications, preferably with exposure to substance use treatment; or 3 years of specialist experience for holders of List B qualifications or equivalent credentials.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for patients with substance use and mental health disorders.
• Manage inpatient and outpatient cases, including clinical reviews, daily ward rounds, and treatment planning.
• Collaborate closely with Consultant Psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Monitor patient progress, document clinical findings, and maintain accurate medical records in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management initiatives.
• Contribute to teaching, training, and professional development activities while supporting evidence-based practice and research initiatives.
• Support the delivery of integrated care models and contribute to service development and innovation within addiction and mental health services.
