NAVBLUE, an Airbus Company, is currently seeking a Safety & Quality VIE to join our growing team in Gdansk, Poland.

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) is a unique international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function. The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria.

VIE Main Requirements
  • European Union citizens (plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Monaco), graduates up to and including 28 years old
  • Have fulfilled military obligations for their country, if any
  • The contract duration of VIE is between 6 to 24 months.

Job Summary

NAVBLUE is a leading services company, wholly owned by Airbus, dedicated to Flight Operations solutions and services for airlines and aircraft operators, on the ground and onboard. NAVBLUE combines aircraft manufacturer expertise, flight operations know-how and agile development to enhance operational efficiency, optimize resources and increase productivity, for a safer and more sustainable aviation.

The Safety & Quality (S&Q) team is a small and agile team that enables Safety, Quality, and regulatory compliance to function well across the entire business. The goal is to enable NAVBLUE to serve its customers with products, solutions, and services in the most efficient way possible while also respecting the highest required standards.

The Safety & Quality VIE is part of the Operational Excellence team. It may take on several tasks within the team depending on the business's capability, interest, and needs. The Safety & Quality VIE plays a key role in supporting the rest of the company's functions to achieve the above goal.

The Safety & Quality VIE is required to support one or more business areas (process owners and delegates, operational teams, and others) on one or more of the following topics:

  • RISK MANAGEMENT
  • OCCURRENCE MANAGEMENT
  • INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGEMENT
  • EXTERNAL AUDIT MANAGEMENT (certification)
  • REQUIREMENT/COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT
  • CHANGE MANAGEMENT
  • SAFETY MANAGEMENT
Main Responsibilities

It is key for the success of the Safety & Quality VIE role to take a proactive and collaborative approach with stakeholders impacted by these topics, to ensure a de-siloed approach, adherence, alignment and transparency across functions and processes. With regard to the above topics, the Safety &Quality VIE is expected to:

  • Support the Business to enable adequate structure, behavior, and operations
  • Support regular activities (audits, regulatory requirement monitoring, risk & performance management across various domains)
  • Drive & Support specific improvement projects
  • Drive an effective and efficient Integrated Management System
  • Ensure follow-up of actions and engage with appropriate stakeholders
  • Reposnsible for the support of Safety & Quality promotion activities

In general, the Safety & Quality VIE is expected to:

  • Be proactive, collaborative, and open minded
  • Be diligent and structured
  • Promote agile methodologies and champion collaboration across different parts/functions of the company
  • Support with cultivating the culture and mindsets within Navblue to achieve the highest level of Operational Excellence
  • Other duties as prescribed by management.
Education
  • Successful completion of an Academic degree in relevant subject(s)
Required Skills / Experience
  • Basic Knowledge of quality and safety systems along with their implementation
  • Basic Knowledge and/or experience of Risk, Opportunity, and Performance Management
  • Basic Knowledge in an AS9100 and/or ISO27001 environment including previous experience with internal auditing
  • Knowledge of safety systems and their interactions within the business, or previous knowledge of safety management in the aviation sector
  • Experience in the aviation industry, sufficient to understand the impact of Safety & Quality on commercial airline flight operations
  • Knowledge of Lean and Agile principles, process mapping, and VSM
  • Knowledge and/or experience of Organizational Change Management

  • Effective time management skills; capable of managing multiple competing priorities and meeting deadlines in a dynamic technical environment
  • Analytical and problem solving
  • Ability to combine a detail oriented approach when necessary, with pragmatism

Technical Systems Proficiency
  • Computer proficiency – able to navigate Email, Internet and Google Suite/similar environment competently, with emphasis on Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Slides.
