GE Vernova Engineering Innovation Center (EIC) in Warsaw, Poland seeks an engineer to perform thermal-hydraulic safety analyses for BWR plants, including ongoing and planned projects worldwide. You will evaluate ECCS LOCA, containment response and hydrodynamic loads, collaborating with multiple engineering teams.

Required are a nuclear/chemical engineering degree and hands-on experience with thermal-hydraulic modeling and T/H codes; familiarity with NRC regulations and QA standards is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nuclear, chemical or similar engineering.
  • Experience with thermal hydraulic modeling for reactor systems.
  • Knowledge of 10 CFR 50.46 regulations.
  • Experience with T/H codes such as TRACG, TRACE, RELAP, RETRAN.
  • Programming experience in C#, FORTRAN, Python.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thermal hydraulic safety analyses for BWR plants, including operating and planned worldwide.
  • Evaluate Emergency Core Cooling System loss of coolant accidents and containment response.
  • Ensure compliance with NRC policies and QA standards.

Job Description Summary

As a contributing member of the LCA team, perform thermal hydraulic safety analyses for BWR plants, including currently operating BWR plants as well as new plants (ABWR and BWRX) operating or planned worldwide.

Job Description Essential Responsibilities

Perform technical evaluations and analyses in the area of Emergency Core Cooling System Loss of Coolant Accidents, containment response and impact, hydrodynamic and pressurization loads, fuel performance, with general expertise in two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques Ensure work is in compliance with NRC regulated policies and procedures, as well as Quality Assurance standards. Participate in Company initiatives, including process improvement and New Product Introduction opportunities Participate in team process improvement/ automation initiatives Perform in cross-disciplinary settings, engaged with interfacing teams responsible for mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design or other affiliated organizations to find optimum customer solutions.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline (nuclear, chemical or similar) from an accredited college or university.
