Job summary

Solvd is seeking a Test Automation Engineer with Android automation experience to join our team on a social news aggregation platform. You’ll build and maintain automated tests, integrate with CI, and collaborate with developers to improve product quality.

We value strong QA discipline, hands-on automation in mobile environments, and a fast-paced, Agile setting. You’ll work across teams to ensure robust release readiness and deliver reliable software solutions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building automation for mobile/web apps, preferably social media.
• Strong testing methodology and QA best practices.
• Independent planning from requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Adhoc and exploratory testing in mobile apps.
• Experience in iOS and Android testing environments.
• Fast-paced development experience.
• Creative problem-solving.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and Jira/Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain automated test cases, execute test suites, review and diagnose reported bugs, and ensures overall system quality prior to a production release.
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot automated suites of tests through continuous integration for value added feedback.
• Maintain test infrastructure stability in non-production environments.
• Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution.
• Work closely with software developers to create software artifacts including test plans, test cases, test procedures and test reports.
• Work across functional areas with internal partner engineering teams in a disciplined agile environment.
• Estimate own testing tasks and works productively with minimum supervision while showing excellent team attitude.
• Influence the entire engineering organization on unit/integration/end-to-end tests.

We're on the lookout for a Test Automation Engineer with Android automation experience to join our team working on a social news aggregation platform.

What you'll do

• Create and maintain automated test cases, execute test suites, review and diagnose reported bugs, and ensures overall system quality prior to a production release.

What you bring

• 4+ years of experience in building automation frameworks for mobile/web applications particularly social media or related app.

• High proficiency in testing methodology, SDLC methodology, test documentation procedures, and QA Best Practices.

• Independently chalk out test plans based on requirements.

• Strong communication skills.

• Ability to identify area of impact in the app based on the requirements to do adhoc and exploratory testing.

• Comfortable with iOS and Android testing environments.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.

• Creative problem-solving skills.

• Experience testing Agile/Scrum SDLC, and skill using tools such as JIRA and Confluence to manage the lifecycle.

Nice to have

• At least 3 years of Experience in testing applications across platforms iOS, Android, Web and Mobile Web.

• Experience with API testing.

• Experience working in a fast-paced work environment where prod releases happen every week.
