Job summary

Sanoma Learning is seeking a Data Engineer Tech Lead to design, build, and maintain a central data storage and processing layer. You will provide architectural direction and day-to-day guidance to a team of data engineers in a fully remote setup.

The role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership, focusing on scalable data platforms in AWS, GenAI-enabled data flows, and collaboration with data scientists and product teams. Warsaw onboarding is required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and strong AWS knowledge.
• Solid understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with data processing pipelines (batch/streaming).
• Strong software engineering practices: version control, CI/CD, automated testing.
• Experience with data modeling, storage formats, and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Familiarity with Generative AI tech and data engineering support for AI apps.
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative, agile mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain central data storage and processing layer.
• Provide architectural direction and day-to-day guidance to data engineers.
• Lead end-to-end data pipeline initiatives across teams.
• Ensure data security, availability, and performance in AWS.
• Mentor engineers and promote best-practice adoption.
