Job summary

OANDA in Kraków is seeking a Team Lead with strong C++ application development experience to guide the backend engineering team responsible for our trading platform. You will mentor developers, drive sprint planning, and ensure releases flow through CI/CD while maintaining robust Linux-based services.

You will collaborate with business and technical leaders to translate requirements into actionable goals and participate in a monthly on-call rotation to support critical systems.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong desire to lead and coach a team, with continuous learning habits.
• Adaptability to manage shifting priorities and project scopes.
• Solid hands-on development experience with modern C++.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multithreading, and concurrency.
• Familiarity with databases, REST microservices, and software design patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD, deployment automation, and writing clean, documented code.
• Basic project management and team coordination skills.

How do we work?

We're looking for a Team Lead with strong C++ application development experience and a passion for leading people. You'll join the OANDA engineering team that owns the backend of our renowned trading platform, used globally to analyze currency markets and trade forex and CFDs. Your leadership and technical contributions will directly impact thousands of customers trading billions of dollars daily.

The Backend Team leverages modern C++ and Python to build high-performing, reliable solutions and robust in-house risk management systems.

As our Team Lead, you will:
