Job summary

Qualifications

  • Confirm procedure details, dates, times, and necessary pre-surgical testing.
  • Coordinate with surgeons, surgery centers, and co-managing optometrists.
  • Maintain accurate records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Communicate with Patient Accounts regarding insurance verification.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and document cancellations or changes.
  • Prepare and maintain patient surgery information packets.
  • Support administrative tasks such as answering calls and updating schedules.

Job Summary
The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for scheduling all surgeries, laser treatments, intravitreal injections, and follow-up appointments when surgery is indicated. This position works closely with physicians, patients, and staff to ensure that all pre- and post-surgical requirements are met and properly documented.

Duties

  • Schedule surgeries, laser procedures, LASIK, and intravitreal injections.
  • Confirm procedure details, dates, times, and necessary pre-surgical testing.
  • Coordinate with surgeons, surgery centers, and co-managing optometrists.
  • Maintain accurate records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Communicate with Patient Accounts regarding insurance verification, self-pay patients, and payment plans.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and document cancellations or changes as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain patient surgery information packets.
  • Support administrative tasks such as answering calls, updating schedules, and assisting with departmental needs.
