As a Supplier Sustainability Specialist, you will be working as part of the Hiab supplier sustainability team, and in conjunction with sourcing teams with strong and hands‑on experience of hazardous substances and responsible minerals topics to safeguard compliance and continuous improvement of Hiab supply chain. In parallel, you will be mapping the current way of working in order to plan automation and digitalisation of current processes and tools.

This position is primarily based in Sofia, Bulgaria, with the flexibility to consider candidates in Poland.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Manage the BOM check system as the main contact point/super user
  • Contact suppliers and manage communication with them on Hiab hazardous substances requirements (ROHS, REACH, POP, TSCA, Prop.65, PFAS etc.). Invite them to BOM check, follow up with them to register in BOM check and declare all codes they sell to Hiab. Provide training as needed, review manually declarations shared by suppliers when BOM check registration is not possible
  • Maintain data up-to-date, report program status and escalate towards categories sourcing if needed
  • Join BOM check steering committee calls and follow up hazardous substances requirements, in order to safeguard Hiab product compliance to all applicable regulations and customer requests
  • Contact suppliers and manage communication with them on responsible minerals reporting (CMRT, EMRT). Follow up with suppliers to get appropriate reporting and in case any improvement is needed. Provide training to suppliers and guide them on responsible/conflict minerals related topics.
  • Prepare Hiab CMRT and EMRT based on suppliers validated information
  • Define hazardous substances/responsible minerals program scope according to the annual risk assessment and up‑to‑date BOM, suppliers and products information
  • Maintain process descriptions up‑to‑date and safeguard continuous improvement.
What you’ll need to succeed
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a shared service / industry environment
  • Superior communication skills (in English) – oral and written, formal presentation skills towards stakeholders and senior management
  • Experience with managing software systems as a super user or any system experience
  • Experience in positions within supplier sustainability, compliance, risk management, preferably within industrial manufacturing. Passion about sustainability and interest in following regulations.
  • Experience with chemicals/substances and regulations (ROHS, REACH, POP, TSCA, Prop.65, PFAS, etc.) and responsible minerals including standard reporting tools (CMRT, EMRT, etc.) would be an advantage
  • Experience with data management; Good Excel and Google Sheets skills
  • Self‑management and time management skills
  • Project management skills, specially on digitalisation/automation of processes
  • English requirement: Fluent. Other languages are considered as an advantage.
