Job summary

Job description

Markem‑Imaje delivers fully integrated solutions that enable product quality and safety, regulatory and retailer compliance, better product recalls and improved manufacturing processes.

The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing processes across our Global Value Streams to enhance our supplier selection, development and monitoring processes for materials suppliers and 3rd party manufacturing. You will partner with our Global Sourcing and Operations teams to deliver on strategic initiatives. You will also work closely with other teams like product division to ensure harmonized Supplier Quality processes are effective, serve the business and meet regulatory requirements.

What you will do:
  • Schedule and perform supplier quality systems and process audits and lead supplier improvement/development programs in compliance with applicable standards.
  • Qualification of new suppliers and support of supplier/material changes (support sourcing).
  • Participate in product launch teams (NPI support), lead and coordinate APQP/PPAP (quality standards for automotive industry) deliverables for purchased components, to ensure all deliverables are fulfilled on time.
  • Provide expertise in international materials standards and test protocols for product and components.
  • Provide guidance and training on supplier management, supplier auditing techniques, supplier corrective actions, contractual flow‑down of requirements, purchase specifications, etc.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives such as process and product characterizations that lead to continuous cost improvements.
  • Manage the supplier change notification process, determine required actions for supplier changes, route to responsible subject‑matter experts, and assure change assessments are properly documented.
  • Develop and or revise relevant global supplier and 3rd party manufacturing quality procedures as needed.
What you need to have:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronics, electrical engineering or technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of quality engineering experience with, or as, a SQE.
  • Experience in mechanical components or sub‑assembly validation and qualification for machining, sheet metal, die casting, injection, etc.
  • Experience developing and implementing a Quality Management System is a plus.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt is a plus.
  • Risk Management and Hazard Analysis techniques.
  • Quality tools (Statistical sampling plan, 8D, control plan, MSA, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent procedure writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a remote manager.
  • Experience with multinational corporation’s is a plus.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
