Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Hungary-based team focused on Streaming Analytics, including Apache Flink, SQL Stream Builder, and related components. You will work with engineers across Hungary, the US, and other locations to design, build, and deliver scalable data platforms.

You will contribute to a cross-functional team, ensuring high-quality software for on-premise and cloud deployments, while mentoring peers and driving architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering; or 4–6 years with Master’s, or 2–4 years with PhD.
• Strong Java and JVM ecosystem expertise; deep knowledge of distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Cloudera Streaming Analytics products built on Flink, Spark, and Kafka.
• Lead technical projects, prioritize work, and mentor team members.
• Design, implement, test, and release features for on-premise and cloud deployments.
• Collaborate with product, eng, support, UX, and documentation teams to deliver projects.
• Provide support to customers and field teams for adoption and troubleshooting.
• Continuously improve software quality, security, and maintainability.
