Job summary

Outsourcey, based in Poland, is seeking a data engineer to join our team focusing on ingesting data from external APIs, building scalable pipelines, and governance-ready datasets for analytics and data science. You will work with our Data Platform engineers and cross-functional teams to enable reliable reporting.

This role emphasizes data modeling, ELT, observability, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment with growth opportunities in a growing BPO context.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a senior capacity.
• Experience with the modern data stack and small, fast-paced teams.
• Strong proficiency with SQL and Python, as well as ELT and data modeling.
• Strong proficiency with Git and version control.
• Experience focused on system resilience, observability, and reliability across the data platform.
• Strong communication and/or product management skills.
• Experience with Docker and basic DevOps is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with our Data Platform engineers to strengthen data practices.
• Ingest raw data from third-party APIs and transform into governed datasets in our warehouse.
• Build scalable data pipelines and data models for reporting, analytics, and data science.
• Support product engineering teams to anticipate and deliver data needs.
• Tackle data issues and continuously optimize pipelines and data quality.
• Stay informed on the data landscape and advocate scalable tools and processes.

Profile Requirements:

• Partner with our Data Platform engineers to collectively strengthen and challenge one another.
• Lean into sharing your perspective on best practices approaches to data development, architecture design, and data modeling.
• Build as a data engineer leveraging your expertise in data ingestion and integration, data observability, data modeling, and scalable pipeline design.
• Ingest raw data from third-party APIs and transform it into integrated, documented, and governed datasets in our warehouse.
• Partner with our product engineering teams, to anticipate and deliver upcoming data needs supporting our reporting, analysis, and data science functions.
• Deeply understand our data pipelines, and provide a perspective on future optimization or refactoring to allow for continued growth and delivery.
• Troubleshoot code and data issues as they present themselves
• Stay informed on the data landscape and promising developments in the modern data stack, and introduce tools and processes to scale our development processes.

Core responsibilities:

• 5+ years of data engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a senior capacity.
• Experience working with modestly-sized fast-paced teams. (Our technology department has ~20 members).
• Significant hands-on experience with the modern data stack and an eye towards resourcefulness for the ever evolving space.
• Strong proficiency with SQL and Python as well as ELT and data modeling.
• Strong proficiency with Git and version+source control
• Experience focused on system resilience, and care for operational excellence, observability, and reliability across the data platform.
• Strong communication and/or product management skills.
• Working knowledge of technical delivery through an iterative value-focused approach.
• Experience with Docker and basic DevOps is a plus
