Job summary

Luxoft is hiring for a Database expert to join a UK client project. The role focuses on MS SQL Server migration, with additional work across Oracle, Sybase, Snowflake, and MongoDB. The team operates from home with VPN access and occasional office presence. Working hours align with UK time (9am–5:30pm).

Candidates should have 5+ years of DBA experience with MS SQL, PowerShell proficiency, and exposure to financial domain systems. On-call support is compensated as needed.

Qualifications

• DBA with at least 5 years of MS SQL experience.
• Experience with MS SQL Server migration projects.
• Experience with L3 support and on-call availability.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with client on requirements.
• Develop in MS SQL, ETL (SSIS), PowerShell and shell scripts.
• Write unit and functional tests.
• Provide L3 support including on-call duties.

About the client: Our client is a UK subsidiary of a global financial house working in multiple markets and asset classes. About the project: We're seeking for experienced and enthusiastic Database expert to take part in the Microsoft SQL Server database migration project, as part of a distributed client team. Additionally, the team is responsible for support of different databases on different platforms, including Oracle, MSSQL, Sybase, Snowflake and MongoDB. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with MS SQL Server and other databases. This role will be focused on the new development, but also may require to take part in the L3 support of different databases, including on-call support once in 6-8 weeks, which is compensated additionally. About our team: distributed multi-national team developing and supporting a range of client projects. Working hours: 9am - 5:30pm UK timeAbout working environment: currently the team operates fully in WFH mode connecting to the client environment via VPN. Working form the office is possible upon request in the locations of Luxoft presence.

SKILLS
