At the foundation of this sits our Shared Architecture team (Sharc 🦈) - the engineers who build the essential systems that power our entire engineering organisation. From SSO and identity management to API gateways and event-driven data platforms, this team creates the technical backbone that enables every product team to build fast, integrate seamlessly, and scale with confidence.
As a Backend Engineer in Sharc, you'll architect and build the core platform components that every engineer at hx depends on. This isn't backend work that sits in isolation - the systems you create will be used across the entire engineering organisation, and the quality of your work will ripple through every product we ship.
You'll tackle deep technical challenges around scalability, security, and developer experience, working in Rust and Kotlin to build infrastructure that balances flexibility with standardisation.
