Allegro Ads in Warsaw seeks a Software Engineer 1 (Java/Kotlin) to help power a massive real-time marketplace. You will own backend services from design to deployment, building robust systems that scale with demand.

You will work with Kotlin, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Kubernetes in a cloud-native environment and collaborate with ML teams to advance end-to-end ML systems using BigQuery and Apache Spark.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend systems in Kotlin or Java with Spring Boot.
• Experience with Kafka data streams and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes in a cloud-native environment.
• Ability to own services end-to-end from design to deployment.
• English communication at B2 level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate microservices for Allegro Ads backend.
• Develop data pipelines and ML-enabled components with Spark and BigQuery.
• Collaborate with ML teams to deploy real-time advertising features.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and retrospectives.
• Own reliability, performance, and on-call responsibility.

Important things for you:

Flexible working hours in the hybrid model (4/1) - working hours start between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. We also have 30 days of occasional remote work.

The salary range for this position depending on the skill set is as follows (contract of employment, tax-deductible cost):

PLN 11 200 - 15 250

Annual bonus based on your annual performance and company results.

Code in Kotlin or Scala and have experience with Spring Boot and Kafka to build robust backend systems;
