Job summary

METLEN Energy & Metals in Grudziadz, Poland seeks a Site Electrical Commissioning Engineer to lead and support commissioning activities for power plant and HV substation projects. You will oversee transformers, switchgear, DC systems, and inverters, ensuring quality, safety, and timely handover.

The role requires 2+ years in electrical commissioning, a degree in Electrical Engineering, hands-on experience, and strong HSE knowledge.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in electrical commissioning in power plants and/or HV substations.
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on knowledge of electrical commissioning methodologies and systems.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary and international project environments.
• Strong understanding of HSE requirements and safe work practices on site.

Responsibilities

• Execute and support electrical commissioning activities from pre-commissioning to final handover per procedures and project requirements.
• Conduct hands-on commissioning of electrical systems and equipment (transformers, LV/MV switchgear, DC systems, rectifiers, inverters, auxiliaries).
• Perform testing, system optimization, troubleshooting, and prepare commissioning documentation.
• Coordinate activities with internal teams, external partners, subcontractors, and customers for smooth execution.
• Ensure commissioning activities comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements including LOTO and work permits.
• Plan and execute LV isolations and support safe site activities.
• Coordinate with erection, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure readiness for start-up.
• Lead electrical technicians during commissioning and pre-commissioning.
• Participate in walk-downs for turnover from construction to commissioning and track open items.
• Prepare, update, and implement commissioning procedures and site documentation.
• Report progress, technical issues, and risks to Lead Electrical Engineer and Commissioning Manager.
