Job description
Process Optimization Specialist

Uber is looking for a Process Optimization Specialist to expand its Team in Krakow.

The Krakow Center of Excellence is taking a new highway to become a major Technology Hub in Central & Eastern Europe, focusing on Process Optimization, Data Analytics & Automation.

About the role

You will execute Business Processes that are essential to keep the Uber Operations in good functioning order.

You will ensure your actions are run properly and on time, meeting the expectations in terms of Quality and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), by following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

While executing these Processes, you will identify areas of improvement, conduct root-cause analyses, build data-driven strategies and implement your enhancements, iteratively and incrementally.

To drive these continuous improvements, you will work closely in collaboration with other Team Members, Data Analysts like Automation Specialists, as well as Subject-Matter Experts.

This is a great opportunity if you want to further develop your analytical skills, learn how to enhance Processes (by writing SQL Queries, using Google Scripts) and create actionable insights for large-scale operations, with concrete impacts.

About the Team

The team’s mission: backing creativity with operational efficiency.

Based in the Krakow CoE, the team is cross-functional and supports operations at regional and global level.

We focus on four core areas:

  • Business Processes (design, execution, optimization)
  • Automation (process automation, real-time monitoring, refactoring)
  • Data Analytics (query, deepdive, self-operating dashboard, data pipeline)
  • Data Science (modeling, machine learning, patterns identification, prediction)

The span of work is large, covering multiple verticals (such as Uber Rides, Eats, High Capacity Vehicle, Payment, Strategy & Planning) and Mega-Regions (such as Global, EMEA, US&C).

We’re offering a hybrid model of working (60% minimum based out of our Krakow office, 40% optional work from home).

What You’ll Do
  • Execute Business Processes within defined SLAs
  • Maintain High Quality of execution
  • Proactively identify areas of improvement in Process Execution
  • Build insights on how to optimize these Processes and make them more efficient
  • Improve Technical Skills continuously to match evolving Business needs
What You’ll Need
  • Strong Analytical Skills
  • Basic Knowledge of SQL
  • Good Knowledge of Google Sheets (Reporting & Trend Analysis)
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent written and spoken English (fluent)
  • Motivation to learn all along the way and improve continuously
  • Ability to work on your own initiative independently (proactive) or in Group (excellent teammate)
