Job summary

Balyasny Asset Management L.P. seeks a Senior Engineer for our Webscraping team to build high-capacity data collection systems feeding investment researchers and quants. You will lead a team of developers, design agentic data extraction, and collaborate with portfolio managers to turn data into actionable insights.

Strong Python, SQL, Airflow, Kafka, and cloud experience (AWS) required. Experience with HTML/JS APIs and container tech (Docker/Kubernetes) preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
• 7–10+ years of software development experience.
• Proven experience managing software or data engineering teams.
• Strong proficiency in Python (including pandas) and SQL/Database skills.
• Experience with agentic coding (e.g., Claude Code, MCPs, skills, subagents).
• Experience with data pipelines (Airflow, Kafka).
• Experience with web technologies (HTML/JS, APIs) and networking.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and statistical methods.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
