Luxoft seeks a System Engineer/DevOps specialist to contribute to Linux-based infrastructure, automation, and virtualization for real-time development environments.

You will work with clients and architects to design scalable systems, implement integration solutions, and mentor teams while applying best practices for high-availability data platforms.

Competenze

• Bachelor-level degree or equivalent work experience in CS/engineering.
• 5+ years in Linux/Windows/VMware/Solace in an enterprise setting.
• Strong lab administration and testing skills across OS and hardware.
• Expert knowledge of Linux (RHEL 7.x/8.0) and Windows Server 2008–2019.
• Experience with VMware ESXi/Vsphere and related tooling.

Project description

Our client is a global financial market data provider managing multiple change programs aimed at delivering high-quality software to connect financial markets worldwide through a real-time, high-frequency, low-latency data management system. These projects are technically demanding and operate in a highly engaging environment.We seek a System Engineer / DevOps Engineer to contribute to the analysis, definition, design, construction, testing, installation, and modification of medium to large-scale infrastructures. This role focuses on Linux-based engineering, automation, and virtualization solutions that support real-time development environments.

Responsibilities

• Participates in project planning sessions with clients, business analysts, and team members to analyzerequirements and provides design recommendations for complex systems.
• Works with project teams to define and design the scope for each project.
• Works closely with planning and technology architects to assure all systems are in line with IT longterm strategy.
• Provides design recommendations, develops application and custom integration solutions includingmajor enhancements and interfaces.
• Makes complex modifications to existing software applications in accordance with high-levelspecifications and industry standards.
• Reviews effort to ensure compliance to application architecture standards.
• Develops new cross-functional software systems using disciplined software development processes.
• Carries out unit testing and implements cross-functional systems ensuring the system meets theneeds of clients and businesses.
• Researches new and emerging technologies.
• Provides technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to application development teams.
• Utilizes and stays current on multiple programming languages and software technologies.
• Performs and tests firmware/OS upgrades, troubleshoots system issues, and arranges hardwarereplacements/upgrades for various platforms including HPE Synergy.

SKILLS

Must have

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, and/or related field or equivalent work experience
• Good communication skills
• Able to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment with little daily supervision
• 5+ years' experience as a Linux, Windows, VMWare, and Solace systems engineer or equivalent DevOps role in an enterprise environment
• IT lab administrator experience for maintaining test environment health
• Expert-level understanding of , Linux RHEL 7.x and 8.0, MS Windows server 2008 - 2019, Vsphere v6.x and 7.0, Solace PubSub+ and associated software
• Good knowledge of Windows and Linux-based hardware platforms (e.g., IBM, HP, Dell)
• Thorough understanding of the following knowledge areas: RAID storage, TCP/IP networking

Nice to have

• Experience with OS Deployment tools, Orchestration tools
• Experience with automation pipelines, scripts, and change processes
• Experience with HPE enterprise-class hardware (DL360 Gen9, Gen10), HPE c7000 blade chassis and Synergy frames hardware, Dell R6xx rackmoount servers, SAN design and usage, VMWare ESXi Server(vSphere) and Virtual Center (v6.x and 7.x), AWS EC2 images and Containers, Cloud Watch, Kubernetes, Route53 and/or Azure/GCP equivalent
• Active Directory design and administration.
• Effectively presents information for discussion with higher levels of the organization.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows and Linux-based hardware platforms (e.g., IBM, HP, Dell).
• Advanced knowledge of Windows and Linux-based scripting facilities.
• Perl, C, PHP, VBScript, or Python development skills desired.
• Experience with automation and orchestration specifically using RunDeck and HPE OneView/Image Streamer/Composer.
