Job summary

IQVIA LLC is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to design and maintain automated tests for ETL pipelines and data workflows in the healthcare domain. You will validate UI, APIs, SQL and Databricks tables while ensuring data integrity and business rule compliance.

The role involves building Python libraries and Robot Framework tests, mentoring junior engineers, and integrating tests into CI/CD. Experience with PySpark, Databricks and Azure data services is preferred.

Qualifications

Senior QA Engineer

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for ETL pipelines and complex data processing workflows in the healthcare domain (Python, PySpark, Databricks). You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of platforms processing millions of medical records, with a strong focus on business rule validation and data integrity.

The Systems Engineering team is part of the Global Infrastructure & Operations (GIO) and remains one of the most dynamic and fast‑growing groups in the organisation. In your daily activities, you will collaborate with a team of Architects who design effective solutions, and with the Development team, which ensures the highest standards of software.

The Data

We process over a billion records at a time, our engineers are responsible for the data analysis and construction and optimization of data flow processes. You will build data pipeline using ETL solutions for acquiring, processing and loading medical data into the Databricks using pyspark technologies.

Core Responsibilities

• Design and maintain end‑to‑end validation across UI, REST APIs, SQL databases, and Databricks tables (cross‑layer consistency).
• Build and evolve ETL test automation for bulk/delta/rebulk processing, contract‑check workflows, and QC report validation.
• Implement metric service verification — validate calculated KPIs/metrics against source GDM/DPT data.
• Develop custom Python libraries and Robot keywords for ADLS, Databricks, data comparison, and healthcare‑specific validations.
• Manage test data pipelines — CSV/JSON fixtures, VM file uploads, ADLS uploads, and environment‑specific configuration via Vault.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD (Jenkins).
• Ability to oversee and guide junior and mid‑level engineers, providing technical direction and mentoring to support their growth.
• Demonstrate strong attention to UI/UX detail — validate layout, visual consistency, loading states, filters, charts, and KPI presentation so the dashboard is accurate, intuitive, and aligned with clinical user expectations.
• Collaborate closely across disciplines — work effectively with other QAs, Product Owner, ETL/MS/UI developers, and UX designer to align on requirements, clarify acceptance criteria, share test coverage, and resolve defects efficiently across the full data‑to‑dashboard delivery chain.
• Balance competing priorities across parallel workstreams — plan and execute test coverage across UI, ETL, and MS scopes while multiple features, defects, and releases are in flight.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or another related field
• Technical skills and knowledge
• Essential 6 years of experience in software testing
• Test Automation: experience with Robot Framework or similar test automation tools
• Programming Languages: Python (intermediate), SQL (advanced), familiarity with Java/Scala beneficial
• Database Technologies: Experience with Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks
• Version Control: Git, GitHub/GitLab workflows, branch management
• CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar pipeline tools
• Test case design for complex data workflows
• Defect tracking and management (JIRA, similar tools)
• Container Technologies: Docker, container orchestration basics
• Ability to present complex results in a clear language for both technical and non‑technical audience
• Experience collaborating with teams from Europe, with an understanding of cross‑cultural communication and remote delivery dynamics.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is zł160,200.00 - zł297,300.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job‑related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part‑time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
