At OpenX, we have built a team that is uniquely experienced in designing and operating high‑scale ad marketplaces, and we are constantly on the lookout for thoughtful, creative executors who are as fascinated as we are about finding new ways to apply a blend of market design, technical innovation, operational excellence, and empathetic partner service to the frontiers of digital advertising.

Project: You will have a chance to work in some aspects of agile application development, including our highly efficient and available serving platform. Your opinions will be considered in certain phases of product development, starting from requirements to validation and deployment. You will assist other engineers to ensure that our processes are defined, documented, tested, and easy to use. We use Scrum and are flexible in adapting the process to our needs. You will work closely with a full‑stack team of SWEs and SDETs focusing on different domains and be part of the API Guild.

Responsibilities
  • Design high-performance, distributed, low‑latency systems.
  • Architect, create, and deliver new features and functionality.
  • Work with Product to drive the requirements and own the project end-to-end.
  • Work with Engineering and Product teams distributed across multiple locations.
  • Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of servers and processes.
  • Think long‑term and be unsatisfied with band‑aids.
  • Identify unnecessary complexity and remove it.
  • Analyze existing solutions.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of similar position working experience in Python.
  • Experience with database system design, RDBMs (MySQL, Postgres), or NoSQL.
  • Experience with one of the Cloud providers (GCP or AWS).
  • Experience working in digital media, marketing technology, or advertising technology is a big plus.
  • Experience in REST API or GraphQL.
  • Experience with JavaScript – nice to have.
